Morgan W. Tingley


个人简介:

Morgan Tingley joined the faculty at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2020, after previously serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut and as a David H. Smith Conservation Research Fellow at Princeton University. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to this, he received a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.Sc. from Oxford University. He has published more than 70 research papers, including in Science, Nature Climate Change, Nature Ecology & Evolution, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Charting the spatiotemporal landscape of species’ responses to climate change

报告摘要:

When we contemplate how bird diversity has changed, we often focus on the handful of species we have lost entirely. But while we have yet to lose a single bird species to our rapidly changing climate, birds and other creatures are currently adapting and responding in myriad ways. Across the world, species are shifting their geographic distributions, shifting their phenologies, and even shifting their morphology. Integrating field research and citizen science over decades to centuries, the research presented in this talk demonstrates the complex ways that species are responding to a changing climate.

个人简介:

斯幸峰,华东师范大学生态与环境科学学院研究员、博士生导师。课题组以鸟类为主要研究类群,依托浙江千岛湖陆桥岛屿系统和华东地区亚热带森林生态系统,长期开展动物生态学、岛屿生物地理学、生境片段化与生物多样性保护等领域的研究工作。先后主持国家自然科学基金、上海市科委、上海市教委等项目。在EcographyEcologyEcology LettersJournal of Animal EcologyJournal of Biogeography等动物学、生态学或生物地理学领域主流期刊发表论文40余篇。入选上海市东方学者特聘教授、上海市青年科技启明星计划,获郑作新鸟类科学青年奖、全国优秀青年生态学工作者等荣誉称号。现任中国动物学会生物地理学分会理事,学术期刊Avian ResearchBiological Conservation, Journal of Animal EcologyZoological Research副主编或编委。

报告题目:

亚热带片段化生境中鸟类多样性与群落动态:以千岛湖陆桥岛屿为例

报告摘要:

水库大坝建设而新近形成的人工陆桥岛屿系统因具有岛屿数量众多、自然隔离、隔离介质均匀、岛屿形成时间一致等诸多优势,是研究岛屿生物地理学和生境片段化(栖息地破碎化)的天然实验室。在本次报告中,我将介绍我们在浙江千岛湖陆桥岛屿系统中开展的鸟类多样性和群落动态长期研究工作,并围绕以下科学问题进行汇报:鸟类多样性如何在片段化的栖息地中分布?人工陆桥岛屿上的鸟类群落结构是否遵循岛屿生物地理学理论的预测?生境片段化如何影响鸟类群落构建机制?我们的研究结果表明千岛湖鸟类群落总体上符合岛屿生物地理学理论的预测,而且发现整合物种的功能性状和谱系关系后更能预测岛屿鸟类多样性的分布格局与群落构建机制。在本次报告的末尾,我将与其他岛屿系统做对比,讨论我们在千岛湖陆桥岛屿系统中得到的结果是否具有普遍性。
